The Al Andalus Expreso will transport you back in time to the glamour of the The Belle Époque or La Belle Époque (French for “Beautiful Era”), a period in French history that is conventionally dated as starting in 1890 and ending when World War I began in 1914.
Travelling through Andalusia in the south of the Iberian peninsula, immediately south of the autonomous communities of Extremadura and Castile–La Mancha; west of the autonomous community of Murcia and the Mediterranean Sea; east of Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean; and north of the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar, which separates Spain from Morocco, and the Atlantic Ocean. The small British overseas territory of Gibraltar shares a three-quarter-mile land border with the Andalusian province of Cádiz at the eastern end of the Strait of Gibraltar, on board this train is a once-in-a-lifetime, evocative experience, showcasing the elegance and distinction of a bygone age.

Along the way you will visit the gems that are Seville; the capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia, Cordoba; capital of the historic Caliphate of Córdoba, Granada; capital of the province of Granada and Cádiz; a city and port in southwestern Spain, the capital of the homonymous province, one of eight which make up the autonomous community of Andalusia, also probably the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the Iberian Peninsula and possibly all southwestern Europe!
The “Al Andalus” has seven recently remodeled suite sleepers, five of which were built in France in 1929. These carriages were used by the British Royal Family in their journeys from Calais to the Cote d’Azur. Its Belle Époque decoration has been enriched by several recent additions, with all cutting-edge technical features. Each standard suite has two low beds and a large en-suite bathroom.
The “Al Andalus” train logoThe superior suites have a double bed (150x200cm), a minibar and an excellent full bathroom. During the day, the suite looks very different, as the beds fold into comfortable couches, offering a space for reading, or to enjoy the landscape in a private lounge. All suites are separately air-conditioned.
The “Al Andalus” train has four railway gems – its four luxurious lounge cars from 1928 and 1930. These communal spaces are devoted to leisure and to the enjoyment of travelling in the largest and most spacious train. Enjoy a buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner, or as you have a quiet drink, listen to musical performances, watch the landscape go by, or simply relax in the comfortable armchairs.
